Mini Commedia Festival
World Commedia Day
For six years, a Mini Festival took place in London to celebrate this internationally celebrated day. The venue was the fabulous Sands Film Studio. The Festival was a showcase of creative talents; an event for all those passionate about reinvestigating and reinvigorating the Commedia of the past, recreating Commedia for today and securing Commedia’s place in the future of theatre.
Although the festival will not be taking place this year, we do have some tantalising news …
Viva Commedia!
International Commedia dell’Arte Day is an annual celebration, all around the world. In 2026, the Commedia Day is dedicated to the memory of Alberto Fortuzzi.
A dedication to Fortuzzi has been gifted by Toni Nardy whic you can read here.
SAT is a cultural association formed to represent Commedia dell’Arte practitioners around the globe. SAT curate an archive that is:
“The only official representative of the Commedia dell’Arte practitioners for the collection, cataloguing, preservation and fruition of the materials that document the expressions of the tradition of present-day Commedia dell’Arte. In conformity with the UNESCO guidelines about the Intangible Heritage, the SAT association, namely the same representatives of the tradition of Commedia dell'Arte, act for the conservation and protection of their documentation materials, according to the principle of intellectual property of traditional knowledge”
